Happy June, sweet readers!

I spent the last two weeks finishing up grant applications, which put me behind my regular posting schedule. Thank you all for your patience with me while I juggle all the things. I'll be back in your inbox with new content on Thursday 🫔

For now, here's a recap of my favorite newsletters, announcements, recent wins, and a preview of what's to come:

šŸ† Recent wins

  • I was selected to join the Trans Creator Creative, led by Elle Deran! I'm really excited to get started, and I'm also honored to receive the $10,000 grant that comes with the opportunity.
  • We raised $300 to pay a trans writer who recently fled Kansas! Kit Jamison Young fled Kansas once the state sent out notices to people who had legally changed their gender markers on their driver's licenses, stating that their licenses were revoked, back in February. I'm really excited for y'all to read this beautiful essay! We did this together! I'm so proud of us!
  • I wrote an essay for one of my favorite newsletters, Revenue Rulebreaker by Lex Roman. It's called I refuse to shrink my life to run a successful business. Give it a read and tell me what you think!

šŸ—£ļø Announcements

  • I have room to see five more clients in June. If you're looking for budgeting support, book your appointment here. If we've worked together before, I'll honor your previous rate. Just send me an email to set it up.
  • We're still raising money to invite more writers to share their stories! If you want to support queer and trans storytelling, please donate here.
  • Pitch me a story! I'm looking for more stories that reflect what it's like to be a queer and/or trans person navigating wild political times. I'm also looking for essays from writers who participate in the solidarity economy (think: susu funds, mutual aid projects, worker-owned co-ops, and more). Reply to this email with your ideas, and I'll let you know if it's a good fit.

šŸ¤ Sneak peek of upcoming newsletters:

  • I'm really excited to write about non-extractive lending, a practice where the lender doesn't charge exorbitant interest rates and fees, so you can actually pay the money back with ease. I first learned about this practice on my first trip to Oaxaca in 2017, and I'm really excited to share it with you.
  • Kit's story about fleeing Kansas as a trans man comes out next week!
  • I'm writing about a susu fund specifically for small business owners — it's a different approach than Farron's piece, and I'm excited to tell you all about it.
